It is very obvious that the Fashion World operates on an entirely different level than the rest of the workforce. In my experience, which may be biased from working exclusively in luxury, the amount of pressure riding on you day in and day out is enough to make even the strongest person crack. People are ruthless, demanding, and judgemental, and it takes a very specific type of person to be able to work well in this type of environment.
I think that above all, passion is the driving force that will help one build a successful career in this industry. You need to love what you're doing enough to accept the challenging and stressful demands placed upon you every day. If you are not excited enough by knowing that your efforts are going to amount to a goal you are truly invested in achieving, you will end up driving yourself crazy and being miserable working so hard for a job you don't love.
Personally, I have always thrived in a hectic environment where everyone is racing to make a deadline and complications arise out of nowhere. I know that this may not always be a healthy work ethic to have, but if I have a sincere passion for something I will not stop until I achieve my goals. In my experience, the people I have met who have been most successful in the industry have the same mindset as myself and have been successful as a result.
