First Impressions

I began interning at Miu Miu around the end of November so I've had a few weeks to get fully acclimated before co-op began. My experience thus far has been amazing! Julianna, my supervisor, has been incredibly helpful and everyone I've met has been super welcoming.

I have been acting as the sample coordinator in the PR department which is a huge responsibility and requires much more dedication than a typical internship in the department. I work in the stockroom a few floors away from Jules and the rest of the PR team physically organizing, tracking, and cataloging 200+ samples between the stockroom and various publications. I liaison with editors and their assistants to coordinate what samples work best for their shoot, confirm their availability, and process their movement records.

Coming into this internship I was not aware how much responsibility I would be given but am so excited to have the opportunity to prove myself! I feel like this position can sometimes be very stressful and overwhelming and it is a test of character to see how one works through the daily challenges that arise.

It is very important to be detailed, organized, and have the ability to multi-task. Every day there are different requests to send out, returns to follow up on, new samples arriving to be added to inventory, and databases to update. I am the type of person who thrives under pressure so I've embraced these responsibilities and am hoping to take on even more!
